Heroin possession: Woman asks for end to son’s sentence for grandchildren’s sake

An elderly grandmother who cannot provide for her convicted son’s children has appealed to the chief justice for his release.
Iqbal alias Bala was sentenced to one year in jail and fined Rs5,000 after he was caught with a few grammes of heroin. He was recently sent from Malir jail to Civil hospital when he became unwell.
His mother, Mamsa Jamshed, has asked the Sindh High Court to release him early as she cannot look after his many children.
