Bridging the gap: Chinese youth centre established at Roots

The centre, “Roots Confucius Classroom”, is the second of its kind in the country

ISLAMABAD:

To address the language barrier between Pakistan and China, a Chinese youth centre and library has been established at Roots School System.

The centre, “Roots Confucius Classroom”, is the second of its kind in the country and has been established in collaboration with China Radio International (CRI). The inauguration ceremony on Thursday began with the national anthems of both countries. The audience was entertained by students of grade five, who performed a traditional Chinese water sleeve dance.

Addressing the participants, Chinese Embassy Culture Counsellor Yang Linhai appreciated the efforts of Roots and CRI, saying that Chinese is a great language to learn as it is the fastest growing language after English.
