NEW DELHI:
After two successful films, Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zafar is back in action with his new romantic movie London Paris New York with actress Aditi Rao Hydari that releases Friday.
Directed by debutant Anu Menon, the film puts spotlight on the angst of the 20s, a life altering period when one has to find a career, form an identity and experience the charms of falling in love for the first time.
It is a story about Lalitha (Aditi), a middle-class South Indian girl from Chembur in Mumbai, who is on her way to New York to study politics on a scholarship. She makes a detour to London, where she meets Nikhil (Ali), a rich Punjabi kid from Bandra, who is to study filmmaking in London.
They meet in London and realise they are completely drawn to each other though they know their future lies on two different continents.
The film follows their personal journey as they keep meeting in London, Paris and New York.
The three cities give a dramatic canvas to create different themes.
London Paris New York has been shot in three different phases and captures the lead actors' evolving state of mind. The three bridges on three rivers Thames, Seine and Hudson play an important role in the story.
The growing love is reflected through different sets of music like pop romance in London, electronic sufi in Paris and blues-rap in New York.
This is Ali's third Bollywood outing after Tere Bin Laden and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.
Ali is a singer-composer and for the first time has tried his luck in this film with music. He has not only sung all the songs in the film, but has also written and composed them. And Ali admits it was not easy to compose for films.
Even lead actress Aditi has sung in the film. She has sung the song 'Woh dekhnay mein' and a club song 'Maddham Si Madhoshi' along with Ali for the film's soundtrack.
All the films that Aditi has worked in have shown her in subdued avatar, however, she looks ubercool and glamorous in London Paris New York (LPNY).
Also releasing alongside LPNY is Mugdha Godse, Rajeev Khandelwal and Shreyas Talpade-starrer Will You Marry Me.
The film is about three best friends who have one thing common; their love for their bachelorhood. However, they place a bet that whosoever will get married first lose a huge amount in shares that were contributed by all three friends.
However, their lives take a turn when Nikhil (Muzzamil Ibrahim) decides to marry the love of his life, Anjali (Tripta Prashar). Even though Rajveer (Rajeev Khandelwal) and Aarav (Shreyas Talpade) are completely taken aback with the idea of their best friend getting married, they convince themselves to attend it in Dubai.
During the wedding both Rajveer and Aarav fall for the same girl Sneha (Mugdha Godse), the brides best friend. Rest of the film talks about their tryst with love and relationship
