President’s Income: Petition filed to probe Zardari’s assets

President Zardari should be liable to pay taxes according to the assessment of his wealth and property: Petition.

LAHORE: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court Lahore Registry to investigate the assets and sources of income of President Asif Ali Zardari. The applicant, Feroze Shah Gillani, submitted in his application that in light of the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) verdict, it was duty of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to obey the court’s order by probing President Zardari’s assets and income. The application also stated that after the completion of the investigation, President Zardari should be liable to pay taxes according to the assessment of his wealth and property.
