Disappearance: Tarbela Dam watchman goes missing
The guard’s rifle, shoes and uniform were recovered from the site.
HARIPUR:
An official of Pakistan Rangers deployed at the powerhouse of Tarbela Dam went missing on Wednesday. Security officials of the dam informed the Ghazi police that Matiullah, 38, was on night watch at the switchyard of Tarbela Dam’s powerhouse on Tuesday evening. When the guard on the morning shift arrived to relieve him, he found that Matiullah was missing. Upon inspection, the guard’s rifle, shoes and uniform were recovered from the site. The security officials and the police are considering all possible scenarios leading to his disappearance, including the possibility of drowning, murder or even suicide. Investigations are under way and divers have been engaged to search the dam, however, his body was not found the filing of this report.
