Revenue: Tax collection goes up
Provincial government collected Rs26 billion till January 2012 which was 15 per cent higher than the last fiscal year

The provincial government had collected Rs26 billion till January 2012 which was 15 per cent higher than the last fiscal year. The government had fixed Rs78.5 billion as a target for revenue collection in its annual budget. The target for the Board of Revenue was Rs26.9 billion, for the Excise and Taxation Department Rs16 billion and Rs35.6 billion from non-tax collections. The Finance Department adopted a regular monitoring and review system to ensure the collecting agencies collect effectively, said an official.
