Holy Quran burning: K-P lawyers boycott courts to register protest
Lawyers from Peshawar, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat and other areas in K-P did not attend any court sessions.

Lawyers throughout Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) stayed away from courts after the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council (KPBC) called for a protest against the defilement of the Holy Quran by foreign troops in Afghanistan. Lawyers from Peshawar, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat and other areas in K-P did not attend any court sessions.
The lawyers, in a meeting of the Peshawar High Court Bar Council (PHCBC) at the Peshawar High Court (PHC) not only demanded punishment for the foreign troops involved in the desecration but also passed a resolution demanding complete withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan.
