Cricket: ‘Thirimanne was at fault too’

Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene has told Lahiru Thirimanne to avoid stepping out too much while backing up for runs, according to espnstar.com.  Thirimanne escaped a controversial run-out chance due to India’s generosity when Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed him after he had stepped out too far while backing up. “There was fault in him as well,” said Jayawardene. “He can take a start but it’s just where he’s leaving the crease that is probably a bit unfair. It’s just him understanding what he can do and what he can’t do.”
