Two dead as police fight off militant attack in Peshawar
Police have taken the unidentified bodies in custody, situation under control.

Peshawar Police, often targeted by militants, fended off yet another attack. The resultant exchange of fire in Mathra, Peshawar late on Wednesday left two militants dead, Express News reported.
According to reports, a police patrol on Mathra road came under attack by unidentified assailants, which resulted in a heavy exchange of fire, resulting in two militants being killed.
Police officials said the situation was under control. They confirmed the deaths and had taken the bodies into custody.
Earlier last week, at least five people, including a police constable, sustained injuries when suspected militants lobbed a grenade on a police convoy.
The attack took place in the Batatal area of Sarband Police Station when a police convoy in an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) came under attack.
A police constable of the Elite Police Force (EPF) and four civilians were injured.
