Infrastructure: LDA acts against housing developers
LDA has started proceedings to take possession of mortgaged plots in 21 private housing schemes in the city.
LAHORE:
The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has started proceedings to take possession of mortgaged plots in 21 private housing schemes in the city and to sell them at auction to generate funds that will then be used to finish development works in these schemes, said an LDA press release. The law requires each private housing scheme in the city to mortgage a chunk of their plots to the LDA, which holds them until the developer completes all promised development work. The developers of these housing schemes had failed to finish their work on time, said the press release. The LDA asked the public and the developers of these schemes to file any objections in this regard within 15 days (of February 22) to the office of the LDA director (metropolitan planning). The schemes are the Abu Zar Housing Scheme, Ahbab Cooperative Housing Scheme Phase-I, Al-Assar Housing Scheme, Al-Hamra Town Housing Scheme, Bagh-i-Iram Housing Scheme, Ravians Co-operative Housing Scheme, China Town Housing Scheme, Fazal Elahi/ Makkah Housing Scheme, Gulshan-i-Jinnah Housing Scheme, Green Valley Housing Scheme, Hyde Park Housing Scheme, Kake Zai Housing Scheme Phase-II, Khurram Town Housing Scheme, Meraj Town Housing Scheme, OPF Farm Housing Scheme, Punjab Government Servants Housing Scheme Foundation, Rehman Abad Housing Scheme, Sally Town Housing Scheme (North), Saman Zar Housing Scheme, Sunny Park (Extension) Sunny Garden Housing Scheme and Zubaida Khatoon Housing Scheme.
