Demolition of houses: Residents pelt stones at police
Residents tried to disrupt the operation by taking away the batteries of the bulldozers.

Residents of Farooq-e-Azam Road pelted police with stones on Sunday as officials of the Auqaf department demolished their homes. The department carried out the operation to recover 60 kanals of its land near Hashmat Ali Boys College. The residents tried to disrupt the operation by taking away the batteries of the bulldozers, but the police forced them to stay away. Sadiqabad police said they have registered criminal cases against those who created hurdles for the police in the operation. District Coordination Officer Saqib Zafar said the Auqaf department requested him to provide police support during the operation. Auqaf department officials were not available for a comment.
