Education: Former senator back from 3-day visit
Iqbal Haider is invited by the University of Mumbai to participate in an international conference
Former federal minister for human rights, law and parliamentary affairs, former senator Iqbal Haider arrived in Islamabad on Saturday from a three-day visit to Mumbai, India. He was invited by the University of Mumbai to participate in an international conference on “Imperatives of National Security and Foreign Policy: India, Pakistan and China,” held on February 13-14. The activist-politician presented a detailed report titled “National Security Sate or Social Welfare State”. During his stay in Mumbai, he was also invited as a presenter in the annual award giving ceremony of the Public Relations Council of India. During the ceremony, he emphasised the need for platforms to help clearing misunderstandings and promoting peace and cooperation among SAARC countries. At another event, he told college students that interaction between the youth of Pakistan and India was essential in promoting cordial relations and goodwill and removing adverse perceptions.
