BAHAWALNAGAR:

Commending the lawyers for their successful movement for the restoration of judges, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Saturday that his party was now running a movement for change.

Qureshi said that the PTI’s movement for change was led by youth along with lawyers and farmers.

This is why, Qureshi said while addressing a public meeting at Chak Amir Laleka in Bahawalnagar, the PTI had become the “voice of the people”.

The former foreign minister said that “no one could dare” to impose martial law now. He added that the incumbent government’s time was almost up.

He said that both the PPP and PML-N had brought the country to the verge of disaster by adding to the people’s misery.

The politicians, he said, except for those in the PTI have vested interests. He called them a failure and demanded that they quit.

Qureshi said that the public had been “buried alive” under corruption, unemployment and inflation.

The vice chairman promised that the party chairman would soon visit remote areas to “give them hope”.

Also on this occasion, former adviser to chief minister Mian Shaukat Ali Laleka announced to join the PTI. About 80 former nazims, vice nazims, former TMA officials and several councillors also joined PTI.

Imran Khan promises justice, relief once in power

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan condemned the Parachinar suicide attack as well as firing by security personnel which resulted in loss of two “innocent” people.

In a press release issued on Saturday he said that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf stood for interfaith harmony and condemned violence.

He expressed “deep sorrow” at the loss of lives and said that he prayed for speedy recovery of the injured. Khan said that once in power, the PTI would not allow anyone to flout the law and would ensure that every citizen was protected.
