Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Javedul Hassan Chishti on Saturday dismissed as withdrawn the bail petition of disabled man accused of being party to an assault with clubs.
The petitioner’s counsel had informed the judge that police had discharged him. The judge asked the lawyer where his client was. The lawyer pointed towards a man, paralysed in both legs, who had crawled into the courtroom when the case was called. The counsel said petitioner Muhammad Iqbal had been declared innocent during investigation. The judge granted his request. Abid was nominated, along with some others, in an FIR registered at the Nawankot police station, for beating up Muhammad Shehzad.
