LAHORE:
Dr Ajaz Anwar, artist and art critic, presided over an unusual event on Friday. Grade 4 students at The New School discussed with him contemporary Pakistani art and what the ‘ideal’ user friendly art gallery would look like. The children had also tried their hand at reproducing paintings by Sadequain, Anna Molka Ahmed, Ismail Gulgee, Ahmed Pervaiz and Dr Anwar. The event also included informative audio guides and a video presentation by the children to give background about the artists and their work. Dr Anwar presented his book Reminiscences of Old Lahore to the school library and also drew caricatures of the young artists, which he signed.
