The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has retained all-rounder Sana Mir as captain.

KARACHI:
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has retained all-rounder Sana Mir as captain as the board announced the national women’s team for the forthcoming ICC Women Cricket Challenge in South Africa.

The selection committee, headed by Azher Khan and includes Farrukh Zaman and Ehtashamuddin, announced the 14-member team after completion of trial matches at the Lahore Country Club, Muridke.

In a surprising move, the selectors named Marina Iqbal as vice-captain in spite of the presence of other experienced players.

Marina has played only a solitary One-Day International (ODI) last year in May against Ireland and two Twenty20 internationals.

Meanwhile. off-spinner Javeria Wadood, who was suspended from bowling following a suspect action reported in the World Twenty20 in the West Indies, has also been included in the squad for the tournament to be held from October 3 to 18.
