O’Sullivan defeated Judd Trump 5-3 to reach the semi-finals of the Welsh Open.
NEWPORT:
Ronnie O’Sullivan defeated Judd Trump 5-3 to reach the semi-finals of the Welsh Open. O’Sullivan conceded the first frame but immediately hit back in the second to draw level. He then took a 2-1 lead following an excellent break of 88. However, the sea-saw battle continued as Trump secured the fourth frame. A brilliantly-compiled 139 helped O’Sullivan regain the lead at 3-2, only for Trump to level the tie again with a break of 88. A missed green in the next frame proved costly for Trump as O’Sullivan went on to clinch the seventh and eighth frame for the win.
