Zaman loses third-place play-off

Pakistan’s second-seed Farhan Zaman lost to Egypt’s Marwan El Shorbagy.

Pakistan’s second-seed Farhan Zaman lost to Egypt’s Marwan El Shorbagy 15-17, 11-6, 12-10, 14-12 in the bronze medal play-off at the Men’s World Junior Squash Championship 2010 in Quito, Ecuador. Farhan, who has now leaped six places to 30th spot on the world ranking, was the lone Pakistani remaining in the championship.

Meanwhile, Egypt ensured a clean sweep of the tournament as Amr Khaled Khalifa outlasted fellow countryman Ali Farag in the final 8-11, 11-9, 12-10, 11-7.


Khalifa’s win ensured Egypt retained the title for the sixth time.
