Approximately 40 kanals belonging to the district health department has been under illegal occupation, undermining efforts to construct additional health facilities. According to officials, land grabbers are hindering the construction of a healthcare facility. Officials added that efforts are being made to retrieve the land with the help of the police force. Meanwhile, Executive District Officer Health, Dr Ashiq Saleem said steps are being taken to provide modern health facilities to the people of the district. Saleem added that Rs40 million in aid was offered by the British government to improve healthcare facilities, underlining the importance of taking additional steps to provide adequate staff to the 86 understaffed facilities.
