In the case of the five foetuses discovered in Akhtar Colony, the police registered on Wednesday an FIR, No. 25/12, against unidentified suspects for concealing a birth by disposing of the body and abortion.
Doctors have been unable to determine the time of death but have issued an initial report on the foetuses which are being kept at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). A senior doctor at the JPMC told The Express Tribune that they could smell formalin when the bodies were brought in. She said that Formalin was supposed to preserve the body.
The police are planning to question the nearest maternity homes. Investigation officer SI Mohammad Azeem said there was no breakthrough in the case.
