Senior citizens: EOBI disburses Rs892m to retired employees in January
EOBI collected Rs868 million in contributions from registered employers, employees during in January.

The Employee’s Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) disbursed Rs892 million during January 2012, according to its Director General (Operations) South Javed Iqbal.
In his remarks on Wednesday, he said that the EOBI is an organization attuned to the welfare of labour in Pakistan. The EOBI collected Rs868 million in contributions from registered employers and employees during the same month and registered 503 new employers, 22,776 employees.
It approved 1981 new pension claims, which included: 1,095 old age, 36 invalidity, 687 survivor and 163 old age grants claims. 83,162 employers and 4,865,298 insured persons have been registered since its inception, and it has 424,930 beneficiaries.
