Baseball: Japan pledges funds for SL stadium

COLOMBO:
Japan and Sri Lanka reached an agreement which would see the former provide funds to the latter for the construction of the South Asian region’s first-ever baseball ground on the island state. According to the terms agreed upon in Colombo between representatives of the two countries, Japan would release $111,607 of grant assistance to Sri Lanka. The initiative aims to promote baseball among the youth in South Asia as part of the Japanese Cultural Grassroots Projects.
