Athletics: James, Clarke set indoor records
Jamaica’s Lerone Clarke won the men’s 60m in a world-leading 6.52s.

Reigning 400-metre (m) world outdoor champion Kirani James set this year’s indoor world-best time at the USA Track and Field Classic. James won the 400m in 45.19 seconds (s), with Demetrius Pinder of Bahamas second in 45.40s. Meanwhile, Jamaica’s Lerone Clarke won the men’s 60m in a world-leading 6.52s with US veteran Justin Gatlin, the 2004 Olympic 100m champion, second in 6.57s, the same time as compatriot Trell Kimmons.
