Protester’s Death: FIR registered against FC

The protest was organised against the killing of the wife and daughter of MPA Mir Bakhtyar Domki.

QUETTA: An FIR has been lodged against four personnel of the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) for allegedly killing a protester and injuring six others during a demonstration near Bakhtyarabad in Sibi. The protest was organised against the killing of the wife and daughter of MPA Mir Bakhtyar Domki. Scores of people belonging to the Domki tribe had blocked the main highway near the Nari River for vehicular traffic. An FC convoy tried to restore the traffic but the protesters refused to budge. A quarrel ensued and FC troops opened fire on the protesters, killing one and wounding six others. According to Sibi’s Deputy Commissioner Shahid Saleem Qureshi, the FIR was lodged against FC personnel on behalf of Imam Bakhsh, a relative of the victims. Balochistan Levies is investigating the incident.
