Hajj Fraud: Rasool slapped in court by lawyer
No action was taken against Shah, despite the presence of police and court officials.
RAWALPINDI:
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday obtained four more days of physical remand of Khurram Rasool, the former media adviser to the prime minister. Magistrate Sheikh Habibullah remanded the accused into FIA custody for four days after the investigators asked for eight days. The FIA investigation officer asked for physical custody saying he wanted to recover nine passports from Rasool. The accused told the magistrate that the passports were not with him, and there was no way he could return them. Suddenly, GM Shah, a lawyer present in the court, got provoked by Rasool’s comments and slapped him in the courtroom. Shah said the PM’s former adviser had not spared lawyers and had cheated them on the pretext of sending them for Hajj. No action was taken against Shah, despite the presence of police and court officials.
