Religion and death (II)

KARACHI:
With regard to the story about Prem Chand’s coffin being marked ‘kafir’ may I say that this may have been done merely to ensure that the victims remains were cremated and not buried. Of course, having said that, there are more decent and non-offensive ways of doing that.

Who has the right to identify anyone as kafir, I would love to write “munafiq” on the hands of those who marked his coffin as ‘kafir’. In any case, I think this is a sorry reflection of a society which is quick to judge the beliefs and faiths of others and those who don’t ascribe to the majority view names such as the one that was written on the victim’s coffin.

May Allah guide us all on the righteous path!
