A spiritual figure: Malang Baba passes away at the age of 90
Ramzan Chishti alias Malang Baba, a spiritual healer and pesh imam for 50 years of a mosque in Advani Gali.

Thousands of mourners attended the funeral of Haji Muhammad Ramzan Chishti alias Malang Baba, a spiritual healer and pesh imam for 50 years of a mosque in Advani Gali, on Thursday. He passed away at the age of 90 in Karachi, where he underwent medical treatment.
Chishti migrated to Hyderabad from Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab in 1951. He acquired a religious education from Madrassa Ruknul Islam in Heerabad area. He was mentored by the late Mufti Mehmood Alwari, a religious scholar and father of former MNA Sahibzada Zubair.
Although his name did not carry the title of a mufti, maulana or allama, he was respected as a religious scholar and a spiritual figure.
The markets around the Advani Gali remained closed in mourning. He was laid to rest in the mosque where he served as the pesh imam for more than half his life.
