An impostor, who tried to get free CNG by claiming to be a judge in Khanewal was arrested along with his three accomplices on Tuesday.
Police said Allah Rakha, a resident of Multan, and his accomplices Abdul Manan, Sohail Ahmed, Adeel Ahmed, Jehangir and four unidentified men acquired an official squad car from the Multan regional police officer using a fake letter. Police said the men riding in five cars, including the official car, fooled people at several CNG stations.
They said when they stopped at a CNG station in Khanewal and told the station owner their cars had to be filled first. When the owner demanded payment, they showed him the forged letter saying that it would be paid for later from the official funds. When he refused deferred payment, they pulled out guns and beat his staff so hard that three of them fainted. One of the staff, however, managed to call the police, who chased the men and arrested Allah Rakha and three of his accomplices near Pul Baghar. However, the rest of the party escaped. The Suzuki van the arrested men were travelling in has been seized by police.
