The Government Girls Secondary School on Mission Road has been named after Malala Yousufzai.

The Government Girls Secondary School on Mission Road has been named after Malala Yousufzai, the first Pakistani student nominated for a peace award on Universal Children’s Day. The 14-year-old is from Swat and made headlines when she defied the Taliban’s decrees against education. The education minister gave Yousufzai half a million rupees as a token of appreciation and said that they would give a one-million-rupee grant to the school.
