Implementing federal policy: Chief secy forms committee

Policy proposes that instead of providing a driver and a government vehicle the officers should be given money.

LAHORE:
The chief secretary on Tuesday formed a three-member committee to submit recommendations on how much money the Punjab government will save if it implements the transport policy introduced by the federal government. Secretaries of the Finance Department, the Excise and Taxation Department and Implementation and Coordination Department are included in the committee. Chief Secretary Nasir Khosa asked them to submit a report detailing the number of cars currently used by officers in Grade 17 to Grade 22. The policy proposes that instead of providing a driver and a government vehicle the officers should be given money.
