Football: Dalglish restarts Suarez debate

“I’m delighted that Suarez is back,” said Dalglish.

LIVERPOOL:

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish hailed the return of Luis Suarez after an eight-game ban and once again insisted he should not have been suspended in the first place.

The striker’s first taste of action since December 26 ended in frustration as Liverpool were held to a goal-less draw by Tottenham and Suarez was booked for kicking Scott Parker in the stomach.

“I’m delighted that Suarez is back,” said Dalglish. “He should never have been away but we’ve taken the punishment and moved on.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney felt Suarez was lucky to stay on the pitch. “If the referee sees that kick from Suarez and books him for it, it should be a red card,” tweeted Rooney.
