Italian actor performs in an ‘afternoon for memory’

ISLAMABAD:
The Italian embassy and National College of Arts (NCA) organised a reading titled, ‘An Afternoon for Memory’, at the restaurant Upper Deck with internationally renowned Italian performer Mario Pirovano this Saturday. Pirovano, who is visiting Pakistan for the first time, told The Express Tribune, “I was very curious to see Pakistan. I am overwhelmed, the audience is really nice.”

Claire Pamment, head of the NCA theatre, introduced the Italian performer to the audience. “Mario is an actor, director and everything else. He is a jolly theatre artist and we are thankful to the Italian Embassy for bringing him here,” Pamment said. Mario read out dialogues and acted out scenes from the American adaptation of ‘Can’t Pay Won’t Pay.’ Later, he read out dialogues from, ‘Accidental Death,’ a play that was performed in Islamabad a couple of months ago.

At the end, Priovano acted out a scene from his acclaimed production, ‘Francis, The Holy Jester.’ The delivery of the dialogue was strong and was described as “mesmerising” by a few people in the audience.

Mario Pirovano will be addressing a conference at PNCA on Sunday to educate and inform students about theatre.
