‘Miscalculated’: Retired PIA employees say they were underpaid

Justices Maqbool Baqar and Nisar M Shaikh ordered for notices to be issued to the airline, defence ministry.

KARACHI:

More than 250 retired employees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) have gone to court over their pensions.

In four petitions, through their lawyer Shoua-un-Nabi advocate, they maintain that PIA had calculated their pensions on the lower side. PIA maintains that the petitioners were not entitled to the benefits as they claim. On Monday, Justices Maqbool Baqar and Nisar M Shaikh ordered for notices to be issued to the airline and the defence ministry in two separate but identical petitions. It fixed the cases for March 15.
