Mazhar Majeed earns £9.50 a week for a cleaning job he has secured at Ford open prison, West Sussex, The Sun has reported.

Majeed, 36, was the agent of three Pakistani cricketers in the spot-fixing case during the August 2010 Lord’s Test match.

According to the report, he has his own cell with Freeview TV. A source in the report said: "He's over the moon. He could have been given harder jobs."

In November 2011, London Judge Jeremy Cooke sentenced Salman Butt to 30 months, Muhammad Asif one year, and their agent Majeed two years and eight months for spot-fixing. Muhammad Amir was sentenced to six months in a young offenders’ institute.

Nine pounds fifty sounds a lot of money, but it would barely buy a McDonalds hamburger meal in London.
