G-Day!: Isra Convocation

University makes it to HEC’s top tier.

Two hundred and seventy nine graduates received their academic degrees in medicine, business administration, information technology, computer science and telecommunications at the 9th annual convocation of Isra University on Saturday.


Ninety-eight students obtained their bachelor’s degrees in medicine and surgery, 18 in nursing, six in vision science, and a total of 116 students earned their bachelor’s in business administration, information technology and computer science. The university also awarded four MS ophthalmology degrees, three diplomas in cardiology and radiology, 26 master’s degrees and 30 MPhil degrees. Five gold medals and four silver medals were also awarded.

Prof. Dr Noshad Shaikh, the vice chancellor of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, and chief guest, congratulated the teachers, graduates and their parents, and applauded Isra for its pursuance of academic excellence over the years.

Isra University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ghulam Qadir Qazi said that the Higher Education Commission ranked the Islamabad, Karachi and Hyderabad campuses of his university in the ‘W’ category, which is the highest grade awarded to private universities.

Chancellor Prof. Dr Asadullah Qazi denied that the university was receiving any foreign funding, dispelling the impression that it was being financed by Saudi Arabia.

None of the students graduated in Computer science and One student graduated in Software Engineering (thats me), which you have missed.
