Road Accident: Four children killed in van-bike collision

Four children were killed in a collision between a motorcycle and a van in Khanpur on Friday.


Police identified the deceased as 15-year-old Muhammad Nawaz, eight-year-old Iqra, 10-year-old Imtiaz and 10-year-old Sikandar.

They said Nawaz was taking his three siblings to school on the motorcycle which collided with a speeding van coming from the opposite direction near Deenpur Chowk in Muhammadpura.

The three pillion riders died on the spot. Nawaz was taken to Sheikh Zayed Medical College Hospital where he passed away.

Police said they had seized the van and were carrying out raids to arrest the driver who had fled the scene following the accident.

SHO Jam Manzoor said Nawaz was driving the motorcycle without a licence as he was ineligible for it.

He said an FIR had been registered against the van driver under section 337A, 279/320, 427 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
