Complaints of neglect: ANP Sindh members meet with President
ANP Sindh Chief met with President Zardari and appraised him of their grievances.
KARACHI:
A delegation of the Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh chapter, headed by its chief Shahi Syed, held a meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari at Bilawal House on Friday, and informed him about the problems faced by Pakhtuns in Karachi.
The president was told that the ANP, despite being a part of the Sindh government, is provided insufficient government jobs and its representatives in the Sindh Assembly are not given proper funds for development works. They complained that the party is not treated like a coalition partner and has been ignored by the Sindh chief minister on many occasions.
The developmental works in areas with a Pakhtun majority were mentioned, particularly the construction of the Bacha Khan Flyover and its link roads, which were not completed in six years.
According to ANP Sindh general secretary, Bashir Jan, the president called upon the chief minister to discuss these problems.
The delegation members included Bashir Jan, Lala Awrangzeb, Shahid Ali Khan, Pir Riaz Gul and Amir Nawab Khan.
The ANP has complained to the chief minister about this several times and was given reassurances, but it seems that they did not work in the long term.
