Terrorism cases: 42 investigation teams formed in Punjab
The teams will send their investigation reports to the Home Department.

The government has formed 42 joint investigation teams (JITs) of police and counter-terrorism department officials to investigate all cases registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997 (ATA), with at least one team formed for each of the 36 districts of the province.
Four of the teams will investigate cases in Lahore, two in Faisalabad, two in Rawalpindi and two in Gujranwala. The remaining 32 districts will get one team each, according to a Home Department notification.
According to the notification, any First Information Reports (FIRs) registered under sections of the ATA must be forwarded to the JIT concerned immediately, along with any evidence collected.
The investigation teams consist of police representatives not below the rank of inspector to act as convener and a representative of the counter-terrorism department as member. They will send their investigation reports to the Home Department.
