Karachi killings: Balochistan goes on strike in condemnation
Baloch Republican Party calls for province-wide wheel-jam strike on Feb 4 and 5.
QUETTA:
Parts of Balochistan observed a shutter-down strike on Thursday to condemn the killings of Baloch Republican Party chief Brahamdagh Bugti’s niece and sister in Karachi.
A strike call was given by the BRP and fully supported by nationalist parties, including the National Party.
A complete strike was observed in Turbat, Dera Allahyar, Naushki, Khuzdar, Mastung, Hub and Washuk. Business and trade activities were halted and stringent security measures were made.
In provincial capital Quetta, however, a partial strike was observed and shops and markets in Saryab and adjacent localities remained closed for the day.
The BRP has also called for a wheel-jam strike across the province on February 4 and 5 to register its protest against the killing.
