The meeting has been called to discuss Gilani’s summoning by the Supreme Court of Pakistan and will also be attended by Aitzaz Ahsan - the prime minister’s lawyer, who will brief him on today’s proceedings.
Gilani has been summoned by the court on February 13, to be indicted with contempt over his refusal to pursue corruption cases against President Asif Ali Zardari.
The court said today that it was “satisfied prima facie that there is enough case for further proceedings.”

Justice for all.
in all fairness - appex court is true to its proceedings - its all over for man under spot - otherwise there would be unlimited promises...................!
@M Ali: People have supported judiciary to restore law and justice. Moreover people have voted to support democratic system, and not to allow the politicians to corrupt the whole system. NRO is passed by a dictator and therefore this so called democratic government should have the courage to cancel NRO. and act according to the law.
Don't be afraid our Prime minister, Supreme court is making itself a political force because http://707monty.blogspot.com/2012/01/supreme-court-is-making-itself.html
Ch Pervaiz Elahi Next Prime Minister of Pakistan, his past record is also very appreciable when he served as CM of Punjab
It is insult of democracy to call this most corrupt government of the history of Pakistan a democratic govt.
People did not spearhead movement for the restoration of superior judiciary, and gave sacrifices so that it would stall democratic govt at every step, ever since it came to power in 2008. Instead of supporting and strengthening democracy,judiciary unfortunately has become a tool in the hands anti-democratic forces. We all know the history of judgements of these superior with their controversial judgements validating Army takeovers/Martial Laws of Ayub Khan, Zia-ul-haq and Pervez Musharaf and the most abhorrent verdict against Zulfikar Ali Bhutto by the Lahore High Court and the Supreme Court, ill effects of which we are still facing. I have no love and respect for the superior judiciary now.
This is going to be interesting, note that the opposition seems to be getting together to formulate a joint strategy. There seems to be great uproar in the assemblies regarding the increase in petrol prices even its allies i.e MQM has stormed out of the assemblies in protest! Question is are the MQM and PMLQ ready to jump ship?
Probably shining moon of PM is likely to be eclipsed under the shadow of contempt of court. Honourable CJ is humbly requested to take serious notice of 11 missing persons also who either are dead or in the custody of agencies. Respect of an ordinary Pakistani needs urgent restoration irrespective of the fact who get fired on its way to ensure justice.
I don't think so some thing happen they just drag on and on the dates of decision of judges.
well, Mr.Khalid, Honest demands that you should have written "my expectations" in stead of "people's expectations" in your statement above. I understand, you are a layman like me and not a a popular leader. Regards
@Khalid Javed: Very True.
It should become a landmark case where the PM should go from Supreme Court to Adiala jail. He deserves nothing less. That will be the victory of justice.
Gilani will pull this for a few months and then announce new election in October
Let's see what how they make fun of honorable court....
Nothing will come out. Court's performance against peoples' expectations have not been upto the mark.
