Victim's grandson discovers her lying injured, bleeding from head

GUJRANWALA:

A 55-year-old woman was murdered by unidentified assailants in Gujranwala's Amina Park area, prompting police to register a case and launch an investigation.

Police said the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Aimanabad Police Station, where the victim, identified as Bilqees Bibi, was alone at her home when unknown suspects forcibly entered the house and attacked her.

The assailants allegedly struck her on the head with bricks, killing her on the spot, and fled the scene.

Police said the victim's grandson discovered her lying injured and bleeding from the head upon entering the house.

He immediately informed the police, who reached the spot and initiated legal proceedings.

The homicide unit took the body into custody and shifted it to the hospital for post-mortem examination.

A case has been registered against unknown persons.

SHO Aimanabad Inspector Imtiaz Bhandar said that evidence has been collected from the crime scene and a thorough investigation is underway.

"We have started working on the available clues, and the suspects will be arrested soon," he added.
