LHC issues contempt of court notice to Punjab Secretary Transport
The contempt notice was issued because earlier court order for payment of dues to a widow was not implemented.
Justice Muhammad Khalid Mehmood Khan of Lahore High Court on Wednesday issued a contempt of court notice to Punjab Secretary Transport Muhammad Yousaf and directed him to appear on February 6.
A widow, Riffat Nazir, filed a petition stating that the transport department was not paying salary, pension and other emoluments, for eight years, of her deceased husband who died during service.
She prayed that the court had earlier ordered for payments of dues.
The petitioner requested the court to initiate contempt proceedings against secretary transport and other responsible officials for violating the court order.
