Kidnappers’ custody: ‘Industrialist freed after gun battle’

CCPO said one of the kidnappers got injured in the shootout, however the criminals escaped arrest.

LAHORE:
City police on Sunday rescued an industrialist from his kidnappers’ custody after a gun battle near Lillah motorway interchange in Salt Range, Capital City Police Officer Ahmad Raza Tahir said on Sunday. He was speaking at a press conference at his office. He said the operation to rescue Industrialist, Syed Feroze Hussain, was carried out jointly by three police teams led by DIG (Operations) Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, SP CIA Umer Virk and SP (Sadar Division) Shoaib Khurrum Janbaz. The CCPO said one of the kidnappers got injured in the shootout. However, he said, the criminals escaped arrest. He also announced that police officials who took part in the operation would be rewarded. Feroze Hussain, who owns a paper and board business, and his driver were abducted in their car (registration no LEJ 2061) by five men from Ali Pur Road, Kachi Kothi, at 3pm on Saturday.
