LAHORE:

The Lahore High Court on Friday summoned the Lahore commissioner for assistance in a petition seeking orders against alleged reduction in the size of a plot and for transfer of another plot owned by the petitioner in Johar Town.

Petitioner Saira Bibi submitted that she had purchased plots No350 (originally one-kanal) and No351 (14-marla) in A-II Block from one Ambreen Ashraf in 1991 and got them registered into her name.

However, she said, she later learnt that one Muhammad Akram Khan claimed to be the owner of plot No351.

Petitioner’s counsel Babar Khilji told the court that when his client approached the LDA land development directorate with the issue she found out that the area of the one-kanal plot was shown in LDA record as 17 marlas.

He said when the LDA was asked to probe the matter in 2009, the Lahore Development Authority director general suggested that the petitioner may purchase the additional three marlas on prevalent market rate.

The petitioner requested the court to direct the LDA to revoke the then LDA DG’s ruling on the reduction of plot size and to transfer the plot No351 in her name.

Justice Muhammad Khalid Mahmood Khan on Friday directed Commissioner Jawad Rafique Awan to appear before the court by February 13.
