27 Taliban killed in Afghanistan

KANDAHAR:

Twenty seven Taliban insurgents have been killed in an pre-dawn offensive launched by NATO and Afghan forces in Western province of Afghanistan, while one Afghan soldier was also killed.


Talking about today's air and ground offensive, commander of western Afghanistan forces Jalandar Shah said they took the help of troops to trap the militants.


He added that the troops targeted the area that was considered as one of Taliban stronghold since three years. At least 6 soldiers were also injured during the clashes.
