Back In Court: MQM-H chairman indicted in murder
On Monday, the judge asked the prosecution to produce its witnesses and put off the hearing.
KARACHI:
Afaq Ahmed, the chairman of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement (MQM-Haqiqi), was formally charged with the murder of a man named Farooq Baig by Additional District and Sessions Judge for Malir Munawwar Sultana here on Monday. Ahmed has denied playing any role or having any connection in the homicide. On Monday, the judge asked the prosecution to produce its witnesses and put off the hearing. Ahmed was booked by the Malir police under sections 302, 109 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The victim’s body was found from a garbage dump. The MQM-H chairman was in prison when the alleged offence was committed by unidentified persons according to the FIR.
