PESHAWAR:
Begum Naseem Wali, the widow of former Pakhtun nationalist leader Khan Abdul Wali Khan and stepmother of Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali Khan, has decided to rejoin mainstream politics.
“I have submitted my documents to the party for the upcoming Senate elections,” she told The Express Tribune.
After staying away from politics for almost seven years, Begum Naseem Wali said that she took the decision in view of the current political situation. “ANP is my party, I will live and die with it,” she said, adding that she had informed the party that she was ready to contest the Senate elections.
“I am pretty sure they will allow me (to contest),” she added.
