RAWALPINDI: A driver and five students of Fauji Foundation Hospital Nursing School were injured as their coaster turned over near Tareet on Saturday evening. The coaster was on its way back from Murree and the accident happened due to “a break failure”, according to an eye-witness. The injured were shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, where doctors describe the condition of one student as critical. The coaster was carrying 36 passengers. The accident happened as a taxi in front of the coaster braked suddenly, according to a guard accompanying the girls. He said the driver was unable to stop the bus in time as the brakes were “broken” and the coaster turned over. However a rescue 1122 official said they believed the “most likely” cause of the incident was speeding.
