Moving On: 558 degrees conferred by MUET
The adviser to Sindh governor, Dr S M Qureshi, was the chief guest instead of the governor.
HYDERABAD:
Around 558 students received their degrees at the 14th convocation of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology at its Jamshoro campus on Saturday. Seven PhDs were also awarded at the convocation with 36 Master’s degrees. The adviser to Sindh governor, Dr S M Qureshi, was the chief guest instead of the governor. Qureshi praised the university for its research. He especially mentioned Thar coal, bio-fuel, environment and renewable energy projects. He urged the university teachers to create interest in science and technology at primary and secondary levels of education. “It’s a great disappointment that the school students are not interested in learning these subjects because the teachers fail to motivate them,” said Qureshi.
