New Pir Pagara appointed as PML-F president

Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi appointed as party head during a meeting in Pir Jo Goth.

Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi, the new Pir Pagara, was appointed as the new Pakistan Muslim League- Functional (PML-F) chairman on Saturday, reported Express News.

Rashdi was elected as the new chairman during a party meeting in Pir Jo Goth, headed by interim party chief Sultan Mehmood Khan. The meeting also paid tribute to the late Pir Pagara.


Rashdi, also known as Raja Saeen, was appointed as the new Pir Pagara after the death of his father Shah Mardan Shah earlier this month. He was the eldest son of the late Pir Pagara from his first marriage.

The newly elected Pir Pagara VIII, 55, started his political career during the era of General Ziaul Haq when he was elected an MPA in the non-party elections of 1985. He was elected to the Sindh Assembly two other times. He also served as minister for irrigation, works and services in the Sindh government.
